Man, this week has been crazy. Between putting in a bunch of unplanned time on the server to get things back up and running, catching up with people in town and with work there hasn't been much time left to do anything else. Then add a month long business trip to London in the very near future, a country I have never been to, and you can imagine!
At least once I get there and I'm not home I can get back on a normal schedule. It's been hard lately since it's summer and Montana is beautiful in the summer, therefore everyone is always out doing stuff. Plus, one of my best friends Tony lives in Germany and I'm hoping to pop down for a visit!
Saturday is the day... I sure hope I can get everything done before then!
After a very painful problem at colo, things are back up. After shipping a new box to Dallas until we could get the old one in Phoenix, things have been rough. Anyways, this box has a lot of updated packages (apache, php, mysql, etc), so let me know if you run into any issues.
This year, I decided to head out to Reno to visit my Dad for Father's day. It's been about two and a half years since the last time I came out to visit, although it hasn't been that long since I saw him last. It was really nice to get to spend some time with him. That Friday afternoon was High School graduation, and some extended family was graduating. Man it was hot out! Other then the heat, it went great though.
Sunday of course was Father's day. So, Dad, Patty and I loaded up in the car and I drove us up to South Lake Tahoe. Once we got to the marina, we met up with Andy, Janice, Molly, Shannon and Bill to go out on Andy's new boat. It was really gorgeous that day; even got out of the boat to do some hiking! Check out the pics!
Living in Bozeman has it's pros and cons. One of the major cons for me is the cuisine. For those that don't know, I LOVE Japanese food, it's my favorite! As you can probably guess, the Japapense food in Bozeman is less then mediocre; probably due to the lack of Japanese people that live there! =)
Anyways, it's kind of rare when I get to have decent Japanese food. When I say decent, what I'm trying to say is that the sushi you can buy at any grocery in any major city in the US is better then either of the two places in Bozeman, MT (Jadre's or Dave's Sushi). Now, the grocery sushi it's not much better, but it still is, which is pretty sad. Jadre's by the way, is FAR superior to Dave's too, ugh.
Anyways, I found a really good place in San Antonio, TX I highly recommend. The fish was very fresh and I felt the prices were reasonable, even slightly cheaper then I expected to pay. The staff was great too, and made sure everything was perfect! If you are ever in the San Antonio area and like Japanese food, I would strongly recommend stopping by. You won't regret it!

I can't beleive it's June already. It seems like the time has been flying by this year. Shit. Today's Mike's birthday too (Happy Birthday Bro!!). I wish I was home to help him celebrate.
I'm really looking forward to flying home to Bozeman tomorrow. While it's been a short week, it doesn't feel like it. Not because it was a rough or stressful week, I think it was because of the long weekend beforehand. Being away from home during the week has given me a chance recently to think about a lot of things. There are no distractions, interruptions or other obstacles preventing me from focusing on what's important to me. Ha! Of course being away from home can be it's own obstacle between me and those that are important to me.
Yesterday I agreed to let a good friend of mine move in with me until he can move into his new place next week. It will be interesting coming home to a less empty place, which I'm okay with. I think it will be nice, but maybe I think that because it's only for a week. Not that I have any problem putting him up, I just really enjoy my privacy and living alone. Well, kinda alone; I let my brother move in last fall but that's different. It's not really like having a roommate.
Fortunately I will be in Bozeman until Wednesday so I will get to enjoy some time there. It's not really enough time though, but it will tide me over until next weekend I guess. Only four more weeks to go, then I should be home for a while... hopefully!
