Figured since I was doing some late night coding, I might as well fix a few things with my site:
- Made a ton of changes to my blogger.com template and got the archive pages working pimp. So, behold... the archive side bar.
- I also got flickr setup to auto post to blogger.com, so I can now post images from my camera phone directly to this site =)
- Finally, I decided I had a few minutes to post a short article on using vim to diff files. You can read it here.

Becoming another late night at the office, ugh.
Last Friday was Megan and Holly's 21st birthday, so Ian, Ryan, a few of their friends and myself took the trek downtown for the evening to get good and liquored up. Bottom line... we accomplished our mission =)
I was the first downtown, heading down from work. I stopped on my way to pickup Mike at work and got side tracked by all the employees drinking beer back in the bay. After a few, it was time to rally downtown, and to the Canery we went. Three pint sized vodka and Redbull's and a burger later, I was definitely ready for action. After catching a ride to a friends, I made it back downtown around 10:30 where I metup with the rest of the 21st drinking clan... again at the Canery.
By this time mind you, both Megan and Holly are hammered, as they had just come from Power Hour at the Crystal. After a few drinks and several rounds of Blue Dolphins, I convinced everyone that we should goto the Legion and get our groove on. Only problem is besides the girls, I was the only one else who wanted to do that. So, we did for a bit. Again, a few drinks later and several more rounds of Blue Dolphins, it was time to go.
Helping everyone stagger over to Boodles next door, Alex and I got everyone a shot of Ferne, which is the Canadian version of Absenth. That and a double Gin and Tonic helped me get to 2am. After getting back to Megan and Holly's we all hung out for a bit, everyone pretty partied out. I ended up getting home around 6am, ahhh one hell of a fun evening!
This weekend Ian, Nerdig, John, Nate and myself drove up to the Flathead to go ice fishing with our good friend Marvel. Marvel invited us to come up since they were having a fishing derby on McGregor Lake where his Dad lives. It was kinda sketchy when we got there, since usually the entire lake freezes over and the ice is typically 24" thick. This year since it's been so warm the entire lake is not frozen and it is roughly 4" thick.
We got out on the ice at the ass crack of dawn (7am) and started punching holes. Within about the first hour they had three fish on the ice and I had two dead soldiers (hey, when your fishing it's okay to start that early! =). Unfortunately, the rest of the weekend (two days of solid fishing) took a turn for the worst. I think there were a total of 5 or 6 fish caught total between 5 people for two days... ouch! The first day it was really nice out... about 30 or so with no wind. The second day however, it snowed some and the wind picked up. At least John brough the ice house. So, I sat in there and drank beer with him all day.
I did take one or two pics of the ice... it was beautiful. I'll try and get them posted, having probs with flickr ATM.
This past week I finally made it back to the Bay after being gone since June 2004. It was really nice, my favorite time of year there... winter! Everything is lush and green, just link Bozeman in the summer. I knew I missed it there, but I didn't know just how much until I got there.
I had a really great time while I was there. There was very little I didn't get to do that I wanted to. I made it into the city. I partied with my friends, and I ate the most amazing sushi/sashimi I have ever eaten (and I've eaten ALOT!). I was glad to see everyone... my bro, Jeff, Eric, Jen, Toby, Doug, Adrienne, Leigh, Amar and everyone else. I really miss them all. If only I could find a way to live in San Mateo in the winter and Bozeman in the summer... hmmm, Mike! =)
